LogX
1998
Band from the late 90s Rio scene, featuring Rodrigo Rodriguez and Rodrigo Cosenza.
Influenced by the Beatles, Dire Straits and Pink Floyd, LogX played the Vila Isabel rock scene of the late 1990s — houses like the Black Night sobrado and the bars of Rua Pereira Nunes — with Anderson Moura, Rodrigo Garcia, Felipe Moura, Rodrigo Cosenza and Rodrigo Rodriguez.
Vila Isabel in the late 90s was a band factory. At the Black Night sobrado and the bars of Rua Pereira Nunes, rock rolled every week: Beatles, Dire Straits and Pink Floyd covers on one side, original songs on the other, and musicians' circles until sunrise.
Passing by Rodrigo Garcia's house one day, Rodrigo Rodriguez heard a band playing and stopped to listen. He knew nobody there — he walked in and joined the circle anyway, and Rodrigo Cosenza soon gave him a job: compose Perguntas Idiotas Para Você with his lyrics. The song came out, the test was passed, and the band had its composer.
Three recorded songs came out of the partnership, including Perguntas Idiotas Para Você and Último Corte — the surviving record of LogX.
Felipe Moura had just learned to play bass. Rodriguez would pass him the notes and leave him free to create — that is how LogX sounded: fresh-off-the-stove technique, invention in place of habit.
